MANILA, Philippines – The world’s best pound-for-pound fighter Manny Pacquiao is all set for his clash with Ghana’s Joshua Clottey on March 13 in Texas (March 14 in Manila), with the pain in his leg gone and his condition still at superior level, a coach of the Filipino champion confirmed.

Conditioning coach Alex Ariza told Ronnie Nathanielsz of PhilBoxing.com that Pacquiao’s “footwork was great and Freddie (Roach) was very, very pleased with his footwork.”

“I’m so happy because I asked him (Pacquiao) about the leg and the leg is a hundred percent now,” he added.

The 7-division world champion reportedly suffered a leg injury while training in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. The Filipino boxing superstar dismissed it as a mere sore muscle in his leg.

“Wala namang injury,” he told ABS-CBN News.

Roach noted, “It was just shin splints. It's not really an injury. It's more of a nuisance.”

Pacquiao earlier said that he is geared up for his welterweight title defense.

“Right now 100% conditioned na tayo, ready na tayo sa fight. Maintain na lang sa kundisyon,” he remarked.

Pacquiao is slated to put his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight belt on the line in “The Event” which will be held at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Pacquiao showed off his footwork, showing no signs of the reported leg injury. – With reports from Ronnie Nathanielsz, PhilBoxing.com, Joseph Pimentel, ABS-CBN North America News Bureau and Dyan Castillejo, ABS-CBN News
